Little Harbor

It was such an honor to work with this family on their amazing property, after having done a project with them nearly 20 years prior. This unassuming home sits on a stunning piece of shoreline on Little Harbor in Cohasset, which had lost its natural character to invasive plants. Working closely with the conservation commission, we rehabilitated the coastal bank and added layers of native plants around the property. Two decks were added to the back of the house for taking in the beautiful views, and the front entrance was given a charming courtyard with a pergola and patio sitting area. The homeowners welcomed suggestions for updates to the house, including house and roof color, and simplification to design elements which created a more modern aesthetic to the home. A new stairway down to the water’s edge offered access with little habitat disturbance. Their patience and commitment to the lengthy coastal bank restoration process can set a new standard in their coastal community.
